Are you worth it?

You are worth taking care of yourself
I am speaking to the individual who puts others’ needs before their own. Being a mother or spouse lends itself to putting the oxygen mask on the people we care for, before we think about our own health. Compassion and self-sacrifice are notable qualities. But when we find ourselves in our 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, even 70’s, and we realize that we are tired and worn down with these health issues… And we don’t want to live this way anymore, then what?

You’ve tried over-the-counters, you’ve tried prescription drugs, you’ve gone to doctors…
You’ve changed your diet…
And yet, you are still struggling.
“Oh, I’m getting older” you say to yourself.

Does that mean it’s set in stone?

You think “Everyone deals with these symptoms, right?”

Do they??

“It’s genetics.”

Is it???
Epigenetics has proven in the research, that we can turn genes on and off based on what we are eating.

I meet so many clients in my practice who start a program with me, and then something comes up that is seemingly more important, or more important to their spouse. Their health takes a back seat. They are back in a year or two and we start over. I completely understand. I totally get it. But I’m concerned about how our society views women, and how women view themselves. How we think we aren’t important enough to spend money on ourselves to improve how we physically feel.

We have to change our mindset.

YOU are important.
YOU are worth it.

It is time for YOU to take back your health.
It is time for YOU to feel better.

Change these statements to ‘I’ statements and say them to yourself in the mirror every day until you begin to believe it.

I am important!
I am worth it!
It is time for ME to take back MY HEALTH!
I am going to feel BETTER!

This is not selfish. Loving others means you have to love yourself too. You are part of that concept of ‘loving others’. If you have a family, kids, spouse, and pets, how are you going to fully care for them and keep that household or a business thriving, if you are not feeling 100%.

Do you want to just sort-of-make-it through life, or do you want to thrive?

You might think you feel “okay”. It’s not terrible, right? Most people are living in mediocre land, and have no idea how good they could truly feel. Once you are physically and mentally feeling really good, you’re never going to want to go back to feeling mediocre.

I can help restore your body.

I am here to help you FEEL BETTER! I am here to help you really LIVE!

Is it ragweed season again?

Custom homeopathics and supplements for your unique body and allergy responses.
Custom homeopathics and supplements for your unique body and allergy responses.
Ragweed allergy? I’ve got literally the best remedy. I imprint the ragweed frequency onto homeopathic pellets or liquid, and voila! When you take in that frequency, it calms down the histamine response to the ragweed specifically. I can make a homeopathic for any allergen. Cat hair, dog hair, pollen… I’ve used this personally every August/September for the past 7 years, and it WORKS! (See full allergy remedy list below)

Allergies first begin in the gut. It’s the undesirable foods we put into our mouths that create inflammation and change the microbiome in the gut. These changes cause the villi in the gut to weaken and get sick, then the tight junctions begin to allow seepage into the blood stream. The tight junctions are not so ‘tight’ anymore. The immune system mounts a response and at some point, it finally says “ENOUGH!” and food sensitivities become an issue. The body has to break down those larger food particles that end up where they don’t belong. As a result, as soon as those foods hit the tongue, the immune system kicks in. Down the line, eventually we see full blown allergies to things we ingest as well as breathe in. Histamine overload becomes an issue. The liver gets backed up with toxins and histamine. Then the elimination pathways above the liver become congested: lymph, sinuses, lungs, skin, brain. And BOOM! Allergies to spring pollen, to fall ragweed, to dust, to foods… And I’m sure you’re all well aware of the symptoms:
  • sneezing
  • runny nose
  • itchy and watery eyes
  • itchy nose
  • inflamed sinuses
  • itchy throat
  • itchy ears
  • sinus congestion
  • post-nasal drip
  • fatigue
  • wheezing
  • headache

I work on the body - not only blocking the histamine response, but also focussing on the reason the allergies are happening in the first place. That’s where muscle testing comes in. Getting to the root of the issue and supporting those organs that are needing some healing. Gut, liver, lymph, immune, and also handling the priorities the body is getting stuck on. That’s why we peel back layers. Dig in deep.

Phenomenal supplements that are great for allergies – anytime of year:
  • Allernest – phenomenal homeopathic blend, so many people have great results with this
  • Allerplex – one of my absolute favorites for healing the root of the allergy. This supplement doesn’t just handle allergy responses, it supports the liver, immune system, and the gut, resulting in systemic healing, which over time can reduce allergy symptoms, not by blocking histamine, but by healing the body.
  • Antronex – lowers sinus congestion by flushing the liver quickly, and helps lower histamine from a different angle
  • Histaminum – homeopathic remedy for histamine response, calms down the release of histamine
  • AllergCo – special formulation of herbs, very concentrated, from MediHerb – I love this company out of Australia, it’s like Antronex on steroids
  • HistaBlock – it’s in the name – for histamine response
  • Spanish Black Radish – if you sneeze a lot with allergies, this whole food supplement moves the lymph, a nice addition. Simple. Effective. Removes toxins from the body. Sinus, lymph, and gut support.
  • Homeopathics for any pollen (ragweed included) – frequencies are powerful (see first paragraph above)
  • Luffa – homeopathic tablets
  • Hydrastis – nasal spray
  • Sinus-Tone – for congestion, ragweed, and other allergies

Let’s work on healing your body from the inside out. Muscle testing is a great way to find the remedies your body likes and the ones that will work the best FOR YOU. This is not a one-size-fits-all type of program. Together we will figure out this puzzle that is your body. This is YOUR time for healing. YOU are worth it!

Mood Food

food for your mood
🎵“Blue Skies Smilin’ At Me
Nothin’ But Blue Skies Do I See
Blue Birds Singin’ a Song
Nothin’ But Blue Skies From Now On”🎵

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to sing that song every day and mean it?
But how?
It IS possible. Let’s break this down. I will be discussing foods (good and bad) and supplements to boost your mood.

Food – the ugly and the promising:
Stop eating Sugar.
Stop eating Wheat.
They will tank your mood. Your mood will be in the toilet within 1-3 days after eating sugar and wheat. The toxins in one slice of wheat bread could surpass 200. All because of that sneaky little word: Fortified. These toxins can cause inflammation, weight gain, and mood issues. Additionally, wheat, and the gluten in wheat, will give you a lovely large, round “wheat belly”, which would make anyone’s mood drop right into the gutter. Think of how beer is made. It ferments producing more volume, more fluid, and loads of gas. This is what happens in your gut. Sugar is a poison and increases pain, fluid retention, and drops the mood. Sugar also ferments in the gut, like fruit ferments in a vat. You want a big gassy belly, acid reflux, and a grumpy mood, eat more sugar and wheat!

When we eat inflammatory foods, the gut is damaged, which reduces the amount of neurotransmitters produced. Take serotonin…over 90% of serotonin is manufactured in the gut. If you’re the type of person who can only function while on an anti-depressant, think about eliminating sugar and wheat from your diet.

“But I’m used to eating this way.”
“I’ve been eating this way for years, and it hasn’t bothered me.”

There’s a reason you’re in my office. And it is likely the direct and indirect result of the past 5 years, or 5 decades of eating foods that were not healthy for human consumption. How you eat today will affect you tomorrow. Now is the time to make a change.

“What do I eat?”

I might sound like a broken record, however…
  1. Red meat – THE highest carnitine rich food. Carnitine pushes the fatty acids into the mitochondria and the result is plenty of energy and higher metabolism, not to mention a healthier brain. Red meat is literally the MOST nutrient dense food (besides organ meats) on our planet that we have easy access to. And it is the best food for a happy, content mood. You wanna laugh again? Eat red meat most days. And keep it red in the middle, not brown.
  2. Pork – the fat in pork is high in Vitamin D, the happy mood hormone. It’s not a vitamin, it’s a hormone. You should be able to absorb it if the fat isn’t cooked too long. Have a few slices of flimsy bacon along with the crunchy ones.
  3. Chicken – high in Vitamin K which helps you absorb Vitamin D (make sure it’s pastured).
  4. Salmon – high in omega-3’s and healthy fats, which support the heart/circulation, brain, and adrenals (wild caught is more nutrient dense – cook to medium only or you’ll denature the omega-3’s).
  5. Eggs – the yolks are like a multivitamin, rich in choline which supports the brain, cognitive function, and mood. (make sure they’re pastured)
  6. Animal fat – as much as your body will tolerate. Saturated animal fat feeds the brain. Fat feeds your hormones. Fat satiates us. Fat does not make us fat. Sugars & sweets, grains (wheat, rice, corn, etc), fruit, processed foods, and for some people even vegetables – these are the foods that make us fat or keep us fat.

Yes, you can get all your nutrients from meats and organs. (Cuz I knew that’d be your next question 😉)

Sometimes the adrenals need support when we are in high stress situations, or have anxiety or depression. Your fattier meats will help support the adrenals, in addition to certain supplements. There are too many to list here – just ask me.

Supplements are just food…medicinal food, but food nonetheless. As a reference, I have included a full list of mood supplements toward the end of this blog. Ask me about these at your next visit. The following paragraphs break down which nutrients or supplements help in specific situations.

Dopamine makes you feel good. For precursors in dopamine production, I recommend B-vitamins, Tyrosine, or Manganese. Sometimes all three. I use B-vitamins for the person who is stressed to the max or the person who is weepy at the drop of a hat. Manganese for the person who is getting annoyed with their kids, pets, or just plain doesn’t like being around people. Tyrosine picks your mood up. Think of that dopamine rush after a run, or after eating sugar. That’s why we have the concept of comfort food – it’s because of the dopamine. Dopamine can improve a low mood or depression.

For raising serotonin, another “feel-good” neurotransmitter, I recommend 5-HTP or St. John’s Wort. If you are on an antidepressant, you should not take St. John’s Wort. 5-HTP is a precursor for serotonin. Think of how you feel after eating a turkey dinner high in tryptophan. Feels good, doesn’t it? Nice and calming. 5-HTP is tryptophan. It’s not a bad idea to take this one at bedtime. Some people will need it throughout the day. Serotonin can improve both depression and calm anxiety.

If you’re the type of person who has high stress most of the time, such as a business owner, a parent running the household (technically a business), a person working 3 jobs, or a high stress home life or work life, where the stress is getting the better of you...you need Nevaton. You might be handling it well, but you know deep down, you could use a break. Nevaton is your answer. It contains St. John’s Wort, Schisandra, Skullcap, and Saffron, a phenomenal blend of herbs in concentrated form so you only have to take 2 in the morning to help you ride that wave all day. [DO NOT TAKE ST. JOHN’S WORT IF YOU ARE ON AN ANTIDEPRESSANT]

Vitamin D “the happy hormone” – Make sure your Vitamin D3 level is high enough. Most people in Michigan notice their D drops in the winter. But we have to also think about how the smoke layer from the fires in summertime is blocking the D as well. Vitamin D, which is really a hormone, is best absorbed in the presence of Vitamin K2 and animal fat. Pork fat is high in Vitamin D as well. A pound of bacon, if not destroyed by too much heat, can give a person 15,000-18,000 IU’s of D3, assuming you can absorb it.

A low thyroid can cause depression, a high thyroid can cause anxiety. And the weight gain, digestive issues, and hair loss that result from a low thyroid would give anyone a low mood. Get your TSH checked. It should be between 0.4 and 2.0. Minerals that nourish the thyroid are iodine, zinc, copper, selenium, and manganese. Tyrosine might also be needed for thyroid hormone production.

Methylation – we need methylation in the liver to detox, but also to absorb the B-vitamins that support a better mood. This is going to be your Methylfolate Plus, Methyl-B12, TMG…

It is unlikely that you would need all of these supplements. We just have to determine with the muscle testing and labs where you might be low.

GABA is a neurotransmitter/amino acid that calms the nervous system and helps with anxiety. GABA is amazing for social anxiety, restless legs, or just high anxiety in general. I use Taurine as well for supporting the brain and also for restless legs. Taurine is calming. Sometimes it is best taken at bedtime for sleep. I like GABA-Plus because it contains GABA, Taurine, and Passion Flower.

Two homeopathics that I love for anxiety and stress are Aconitum napellus 30C (aconite for short) and Ignatia amara 30C. “Like cures like” in homeopathy. It’s a very dilute dose or “resonance” if you will. We do not take a full strength dose of these plants. By the time you dilute it down to 30C, it’s basically just a resonance. Very effective. Different dilutions can improve the body’s function in different ways. A poisonous plant converted into a resonance can heal the body. Aconite 30C is used for sudden onset of shock, fear, stress, or anxiety. Ignatia 30C is just a very nice anxiety homeopathic.

Any homeopathic you take, you’re going to want to follow the homeopathic rules which are:
Try not to touch them with your fingers. Pop them in your mouth directly. Suck on them under the tongue for as long as you can. Take them at least 20-30 minutes away from food, drink, supplements, and meds. And at least an hour away from coffee, mint, and menthol. Most toothpastes have either mint or menthol in them. Even cinnamon toothpaste contains menthol typically. Some lip repair ointments contain menthol. Some essential oils can erase homeopathic frequencies too. And electronics/wifi can erase them if placed too close in proximity.

I want the best life for you. I want your body to heal, so you can look forward to each day. I absolutely LOVE helping my clients overcome anxiety and depression, because this hits close to home for me. I have studied for years on how to improve the brain, gut, and hormones so that I can help clients feel the best they can feel. If you are just squeaking by, let me know if I can help!

Supplement quick reference:
Cataplex B – high in all the B-vitamins, over 50 of them, includes liver and nutritional yeast
Beef Liver – high in B-vitamins as well as other vitamins and minerals for mood
L-Tyrosine – dopamine production
Manganese – dopamine production, and supports the pituitary gland and thyroid
5-HTP – serotonin production
St. John’s Wort – serotonin production (also antiviral)
Nevaton – for those high stress days
Nutrients for thyroid – iodine, selenium, zinc, copper, manganese, tyrosine, thyroid glandular if needed, possibly organically bound minerals
Methylfolate Plus – B-vitamin absorption
GABA Plus – a nice blend of GABA, Taurine, and Passion Flower
Aconitum napellus 30C – sudden shock, fear, stress, or anxiety
Ignatia amara 30C – for anxiety in general

Natural Muscle Recovery Tips

natural muscle recovery tips
When you push yourself and overdo, when you have tight muscles after a heavy workout, or are just plain sore after working in the yard all day, what do you turn to? Ibuprofen…Aleve…a muscle relaxant?

I use Beef Heart or Cardio-Plus after a heavy workout because muscles are similar to the heart. The heart is a muscle, right? Both of these supplements feed the muscles and calm down the stress on the body, which can act as a relaxer to the muscles.

A natural muscle relaxant that I use regularly is called Formula 303. It contains a homeopathic combination of magnesium, passion flower, and valerian. It’s great for calming down an acute spasm.

If you are routinely getting a Charlie Horse, think hydration and minerals. Minerals could include electrolytes, magnesium, potassium, trace minerals, or calcium. Sometimes when we are low in B12, it can induce tight spasms as well, but more often than not, the answer will be water or minerals. See me for more info on a Trace Mineral supplement, as I have several.

I love Cataplex ACP as an alternative to ibuprofen because not only is it an anti-inflammatory, but it also heals tissue with the whole food vitamin C, and the Vitamin A and C support the immune system. And…you’re not irritating the gut! Six to eight tablets at a time instead of 400mg of Ibuprofen.

The best thing you can do preemptively, is eat red meat. If you are training as an athlete or just like to go for a hike, red meat is the BEST muscle recovery food. It is the most nutrient dense food we have access to, it repairs muscle, and feeds the heart. If you are an active person or work out daily, I highly recommend keeping red meat in your diet as much as you can afford. Cook your meat medium rare so you experience the vitamin benefit from the “red” part of the red meat. If you can’t afford steaks, look for grass-fed ground beef.

Perfect Amino is an amino acid supplement in which 99% is absorbed. There is hardly any waste, so your body sucks up the entire tablet. You can use this supplement before a heavy workout to supply the muscles with the building blocks to repair.

If you would like to increase stamina during a workout, red meat is a good idea, but also…two to three Wheat Germ Oil perles from Standard Process are phenomenal to take before a long bike ride or workout. Increases stamina in an amazing way!

If you are over 65 and notice that the elasticity is going, you are right. As we age, not only does our skin sag a bit, but we lose elasticity in our muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The Calc fluor 6X cell salt does help with the flexibility and tightness in these areas. Two tabs three times a day of the larger tablets, or 8 pellets 3 times a day of the older smaller marshmallow ones.

Give your muscles a chance to recover after a workout. Work on different areas each day, so you are not over-taxing one area. And hydrate with electrolytes!

Natural Summer Survival Tips

Natural Summer Survival Tips
I hope these summer tips give you an advantage and allow you to enjoy the Michigan outdoors while the weather is warm!

Time in the Sun
One way to help support the body before heading to the beach, take some Calcium Lactate plus Cataplex F tabs. Calcium plays a protective role in the skin and can help when you are out in the sun for a long time. This combination can be taken before and after sun exposure. Cataplex F tablets helps pull the calcium into the body. Two and a half to three calcium lactate per 1 Cat F tab before and after sun exposure. Also, make sure you are hydrated and drinking electrolytes during and after sun exposure.

For sunburns, RenaVator is hands down THE best sunburn recovery supplement I have EVER seen! If you know me, you know how fair complected I am, and with Michigan’s humidity I tend to burn and if out on the water, I have been known to even blister. RenaVator cuts down the pain, the inflammation, and hydrates the skin. If you’ve been sunburned in the past, then you know how the skin continues to burn even after finding some cool shade trees. RenaVator stops the burn! Instead of 3 days to get over a sunburn, it’s usually gone by the next morning with this supplement. Highly recommend! [It takes a week to come in, so if you are wanting to stock up on this one, put in your order.]

RenaVator - liberally apply to sunburned areas often to heal the burn (shake bottle first to get all the white stuff on the bottom back into solution)
Calcium Lactate (2.5-3/dose) + Cataplex F tabs (1/dose) - take these together before and after sun exposure
LMNT or equivalent electrolyte - drink to replenish the electrolytes (especially with sweating/workouts)

Mosquito Bites
One of the best ways to keep those pesky buggers feeding on someone else instead of your sweet blood, is Cataplex B. When your body is full of all the B-vitamins, mosquitos aren’t going to be as interested. Might be a good idea to prep for a month before your camping trip with 8-9 Cat B a day to build up your B’s. Cataplex B has over 50 B-vitamins between the liver and the nutritional yeast ingredients in there. It is fantastic for stress, depression, and digestion! (Too many benefits to list in this short blog.)

Cataplex B - 8-9/day for mosquito bite prevention (needs to build up in system) – can be with or without food

Smoke from Canadian Fires
If you’re living in Michigan or the surrounding states that are getting hit with the smoke from Canada, and all the other toxins in the air (can help with city pollution as well), take either ACZnano or HM-ET Binder. ACZnano is a microporous zeolite with 100s of binding sites which envelopes the toxins and pulls them out of the body safely. 5-10 sprays twice a day. HM-ET Binder is also an excellent environmental toxin binder. Larger chains of the binder stay in the gut to absorb toxins there, while the medium chains go to other parts of the body, and the smallest chains get across the blood brain barrier to pull toxins from the brain. The ACZnano also gets across the blood brain barrier. Both binders are excellent!

Download the free MyRadar app on either an Android or an iPhone, and add two layers: smoke and air quality. Even if we have a light smoke layer or moderate air quality (yellow or worse), consider it like winter time when we don’t get much D from the sun. Depending on your vitamin D levels, you may need anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 IU’s of D3 a day this summer as long as the smoke is still here. For a capsule version, I like the Vitamin D Plus K by Klaire Labs, or if you like liquids, the D3K2 Lipospray by Energetix (coconut oil base) or the D3K2 BioProtein (peppermint/olive oil base). The most cost effective is the minty liquid because it’s more concentrated, you only need 1-2 drops, and it lasts a LONG time. I carry other D’s as well, some contain immune boosting herbs, zinc, vitamin C, others are just D3+K2. You need the Vitamin K2 for optimum absorption.

ACZnano - 5-10 sprays, twice daily (at least 2 minutes from food/drink, spray under the tongue) – more cost effective than HM-ET Binder
HM-ET Binder-  2/day (1 and 1) – can be with or without food – no rules on this one!
Vitamin D3 - either Vit D Plus K, D3K2 Lipospray, or D3K2 BioProtein (take with a meal that contains fat or a pat of butter)

Contact me to order these supplements and have them on hand for all your summer plans!

Coleus Forte Weight Loss Herb
Some comments and anecdotes from doctors using this particular formulation of Coleus Forte:
  • All my patients who used to take liquid Coleus love this tablet. If you have ever tasted liquid Coleus you will understand why. I love this tablet because it delivers a high dose of Coleus in a form that is easy to administer.

  • I most commonly prescribe Coleus Forte tablets as part of a weight loss protocol and it's great that it has the added benefits of improving digestion and thyroid function, and is hypotensive. The majority of overweight patients benefit from these additional effects.

  • I have seen great results in weight loss when I add Coleus Forte to the protocol. It assists with body fat loss and the building of lean body mass. In one study bone mass was increased. This is a great effect particularly in postmenopausal women.

  • I routinely use Coleus Forte in patients with metabolic syndrome. Apart from helping with weight loss it also significantly increases HDL cholesterol (demonstrated in clinical trial).

  • A 41 year old Hispanic woman with morbid obesity and insulin resistance took 3 Coleus Forte tablets per day. After 3 weeks she lost almost 14 pounds and was delighted.

  • A 52 year old woman (5 feet 4 inches, 205 pounds) had lost 75 pounds after an 18 month intense diet and exercise program. She was in a car accident and was concerned her inability to exercise would lead to weight gain. She took Coleus Forte for four weeks very irregularly. She lost an additional pound and also reduced her body fat by 3%.

  • A 60 year old woman (5 foot 9 inches, 253 pounds) with insulin resistance took 3 Coleus Forte tablets per day for 4 weeks. She lost 3 pounds in total and 2 inches off her waistline. She reports her appetite decreased without her focusing on conscious.

-Excerpt from Clinical Reference Guide. IFNH. 2022.

Coleus Forte pairs well with Gymnema for sweet cravings and blood sugar support, Thyroid Complex for improving thyroid function, and Hawthorn and Garlic Forte for cardiovascular and circulation.

Contraindicated in hypotension and in gastric or duodenal ulcers. Not to be used during pregnancy. Can potentially bring down blood pressure.

Giddy up ladies!

Upper Respiratory Remedies

3/24/2025

natural upper respiratory remedies
I wasn’t going to write this blog, as most of my clients have already contacted me on what to take to boost immunity when they are feeling symptomatic. And it’s spring, so I figured we were out of the woods for the most part. I am finding that clients are still getting sick, and with the muscle testing, I have found 15 different new uncategorized immune challenges since last August. Last August and September I found two resonances, so I just starting numbering them. I have since found 13 more since the beginning of December. These are not C-related. In addition, I just had a client tell me her dad tested for Influenza-A and she and her husband got sick right after with similar symptoms. She mentioned she’s heard of several people who have tested positive for it recently. So we’re going to talk about this again.

I do like to test clients when they are not feeling well, and we can often help you feel better more quickly. I am not an MD, and nothing in this blog is intended to diagnose or treat. If you are very sick and need medical attention, please go to urgent care or see your PCP. These are not medications, they are simply whole food supplements to feed the immune organs which in turn gives the body the nutrients it’s been blowing through, as it is trying to heal. These replenish.

Let’s go over a few different supplementations that can really help with the immune system in a variety of ways and I’ll try to differentiate these so that if these resonances don’t go away, or if they come back next fall, you’ll be prepared for it and you’ll know what you can try initially. Definitely text me so I can muscle test more specifically what will help you feel better more quickly. I apologize for my own health and not being able to test all of you this winter. Forgive me. I do seem to be improving, so don’t hesitate to contact me if anything comes up this spring, summer, or fall.

This past winter, we’ve had the upper respiratory symptoms that might start in the sinuses and then seem to head straight for the chest. In this case the following supplements could help. If you are vomiting, obviously don’t take any pills (homeopathics might work better). The gastrointestinal symptoms only seem to be lasting a couple days anyway.

The following are what clients have tested for since beginning of December for the uncategorized resonances:

Congaplex – sinus congestion, blowing out yellow or green, post nasal drip down throat, can also help with chest congestion to a certain degree. If blowing out green, take 1-2 capsules every 30mins, then reduce to 1-2 capsules every hour, then 12 per day (more or less as needed, 2-3 at a time)

Immuplex – supports all of the immune organs and glands including thymus, spleen, and liver, both with extracts of all 3 as well as PMG’s of all 3 which means that it will literally give your body T-cells, which is like offering a shipment of guns/ammo/supplies to the war effort every time you take it. It also contains iron which can help give you a little boost of energy while you’re fighting things off. Typical dose is 7-9 per day when symptoms are worse (2-3 at a time). Immuplex is also a mini multivitamin & mineral; definitely replenishes the body.

Fen-Gre - fenugreek thins the mucus. Best to take Fen-Gre with a full glass of water (8oz). Fenugreek needs water to get into solution. If your bowels tolerate it, take as much as you can until your skin begins to smell of maple syrup. When this happens, it means your tissues are saturated with the mucus thinning properties and your chest and sinuses will thank you for it. You can take 6-9+ a day to help with the chest congestion.

Pulmonest – liquid herbal tincture that is more gentle on the bowels than the Fen-Gre. Typical dosing is 30-40 drops 3-4 times a day.

And don’t forget the flu resonance protocol – these 2 supplements working together are a powerful combo:
Cataplex AC  (8-12 per day)
Antronex  (6-9 per day)

Cataplex AC is high in vitamin C and echinacea in just the right ratio to get that echinacea into the body more efficiently. It also has other immune supporting ingredients for this particular immune challenge. I always have Cataplex AC and Antronex in my medicine cabinet for flu season. If you notice that this combo doesn’t help you feel better for the first couple days, then it’s likely not the right protocol for your immune challenge.

Also, remember that when you just begin to notice that you might be coming down with something, try this little trick. For most of you I probably sound like a broken record on this one, but take a handful of Antronex, like 5-6 all at once and see if you can flush it out of the liver. This does occasionally work! Some people find they can kick it before it fully takes hold. Once you’ve been sick a while, this isn’t going to work.

If you begin coughing up yellow or green, do the Fen-Gre, Pulmonest and add in something like Broncafect or PulmaCo or ResCo (just one of those 3 MediHerb’s would be plenty). Most do very well with the Broncafect.

If you are gluten-free, then the Immuplex, Antronex, Fen-Gre, Pulmonest and any Mediherb like the Broncafect, PulmaCo, or ResCo are wonderful options for you.

One other thing that I do want to make a note of is that I had one client start taking 3 drops of the concentrated elderberry tincture (herbal not syrup) from Painted Outlaw Ranch (formerly Walker Farms), and she hardly got sick this winter. When she did, it lasted briefly and very few light symptoms. Might be something to look into next year, or even now for prevention.

Vitamin D3 - I would still be taking higher doses of Vitamin D3 + K2, 5,000-10,000 IU’s of D3 until you’re out in sun more, and the sun is higher in the sky. Then you can probably drop it down to 2,500-5,000 IU’s. If you have an immune condition of longer standing, then you would likely stay on the 10,000 IU’s regardless of how much sun you get. Depends on the person. Some can go off it completely in the summer. Remember Vitamin D2 is not the same – steer clear of D2 supplementation in processed foods or milk or milk alternatives. Vitamin K2 is often necessary for absorption, along with taking it with a meal that contains fat.

Taking a little bit of zinc and whole food Vitamin C can be helpful along with the D3 to support the immune system and for prevention. Ascorbic acid should not be taken indefinitely and is not whole food C. It can however be taken at the onset of symptoms to acidify tissue so immune challenges decide they don’t want to stay. If you become symptomatic, “up” the zinc and C and D3, and consider one of these other options to flush it out more quickly.

Remember, these are clinical findings. I’m not reading what other doctors are doing or finding this past winter. I am simply muscle testing my own clients, and I listen to their body and I find what I find. Biofeedback. I didn’t go digging for this.

I have a handful of clients who test for other things. Everyone is usually different. However…so many of us have tested for the Congaplex and the Immuplex this winter. It’s truly remarkable that most of us are all testing for the same supplements. This winter reminded me very much of the 2019/2020 winter. Hoping these immune challenges will “dissipate” soon!

Do You Have Spring Allergies?

do you have spring allergies
Allergies are typically a symptom of gut dysfunction or the need for a liver detox. When one of your channels of elimination is not functioning at optimum, it can clog the drainage funnel, causing a back-up with the liver. Bowel, liver/kidney, and lymph are at the bottom end of this funnel (listed from the bottom up).

Think of the liver like a bucket. If the bucket is only ¼ full, and you add additional toxins to that bucket, no problem! But if the bucket is full, a small amount will cause it to overflow into the bloodstream, resulting in a histamine response. Allergies.

Cheesy Shrimp Dip
Cheesy Shrimp Dip
1 package organic cream cheese (8 oz), softened
1 c raw cheddar cheese (shred)
1 c raw parmesan cheese (shred)
1 c cooked and sliced wild caught key west shrimp

Thaw and then sauté the shrimp in butter or tallow in a pan (instead of boiling – too much liquid gets into the shrimp with boiling). Pat dry. Slice into 3/4cm lengths. Set aside. Mix the 2 cups of shredded cheeses with the softened cream cheese and roll in the sliced shrimp. Place in 8x8 glass pan or equivalent. Bake at 350*F for 40-45mins or until lightly browned on top (ovens vary).

Optional: I like to spread the leftovers on a grass-fed burger (no bun). Tastes amazing!

(In the picture I put some uncured bacon pieces on top, not necessary, tastes amazing without the bacon)

Carnivore Chips
1/2 c pork rinds (unflavored)
1 c raw cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, provolone…)
Sea Salt or seasoning (optional)

Blend pork rinds into a powder. Mix powdered pork rinds and raw cheese together. Sprinkle thin layer in silicone muffin tin. Bake at 400*F for 10min or until crispy. Include on your charcuterie board instead of crackers!

How to get that flat belly, beautiful skin, and LOSE WEIGHT for crying out loud!

I listened to a podcast this morning about how getting toned and fit is 99% about the food and only 1% about exercise. That’s quite a remarkable claim, but I see where they’re going with this. And it reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend/former client on Saturday. She called me up out of the blue, and she said, “Connie, I wouldn’t have believed it unless I had tried it myself! I NEVER would have BELIEVED it!” She exclaimed. Of course I’m all ears – I was hanging on her words. “You know me,” she said. “I am a very skinny person. I pride myself on being thin. I’m good at keeping myself thin. I am vain, I love being thin. But there’s something that’s always bugged me and I couldn’t figure out. I’ve eaten very healthy for years, I love learning about nutrition, I’ve always eaten lots of vegetables and minimal meat. BUT…I always have this belly. And sometimes after I eat, it’s like I am pregnant. I don’t like that! I never have a flat belly. I was listening to a woman talk about the blood sugar spike with high carbohydrate meals and it’s all about the spike causing inflammation. I have been eating a high sugar fruit smoothie every morning for the last 20 years! And I put a little spinach in there sometimes or another veggie. And then I read your blog about plants and fiber causing bloating and gas, and a big belly, and I got to thinking about this smoothie I have every morning. No protein or fat. All carbs. Lots of sugar, lots of plants. And when you talked about how having a big belly could be related to the plants, that triggered my vanity.” And she laughed and said “It wasn’t about getting healthy or feeling my best. It was literally all about my vanity!” I just love her laugh. And when she says something that’s just so truthful about her own personality and make up, and her mind, and how she thinks about things, it makes me laugh too, because it reminds me of my own vanity.

Vanity is something we just don’t talk about. We might think about it in secret, as we look in the mirror, and wish that maybe that little bulge was tightened up over here, or that little muffin top was pulled in a little more over there. We look at our skin, and wish it was more elastic, more smooth, or clearer complexion. We wish our hair was thicker and more luxurious. We wish our nails didn’t break and peel. We want to look younger! She then said, “So Connie, I cut out the smoothie in the morning, and I reduced the plants way down. I still eat some vegetables or salad here and there, but way less than before. And I’m eating more meat than I’ve EVER eaten! And guess what?! MY BELLY IS FLAT!! Connie, I would NOT have believed it unless I had tried it myself! There’s nothing you could have said that would have made me think it was a good thing to cut down the plants and eat more meat. Except MY VANITY!” And she laughed again. And I laughed with her at her good fortune.

You’re probably wondering how to actually get to the point of being thinner with a flat belly. My friend is already thin, right? And what about being toned? So, this is what I’ve gleaned from carnivore coaches and what they’re saying about being toned. You start with feasting. Then you move into a little bit of fasting. You skip breakfast. Maybe you don’t eat until 10 or 11 AM. (Actually, you don’t eat until you get hungry.) You begin to rely upon intuitive eating. So you move more toward a 2MAD, which is two meals a day in a 6 hour window. And then try an OMAD (one meal a day). Mix it up so your body feels like you’re feasting inbetween the OMADs. Do an OMAD then two 2MADs, then an OMAD, and back and forth. Then have a day where you eat a LOT of food before doing a 24hr fast.

You don’t want to be fasting for a week. You want to work up to a 24 hr and then down the road work up to a 48. All the while feasting before you do a fast of any kind. Feasting just means eating until you’re comfortably stuffed.

It is these longer and longer fasting periods that allows your body to begin to digest the parts of you that you don’t like, such as the muffin top. The dimply butt. The saggy skin. The pregnant belly. The cottage cheese thighs. The turkey neck. The puffy face. The excess skin.

And the idea is that you you don’t feel deprived when you’re fasting because you just feasted. You’re not starving yourself. You are nourishing yourself. And I’m not talking about nourishing with 2-4% absorbable broccoli, salad, and carrots. Or feasting with pizza, pop, and ice cream. I am talking about nourishing and feasting on 98% absorbable animal products such as bacon, ribeyes, eggs, burgers, chicken thighs, salmon, butter, cream, and cheese.

This is how you drop weight. This is how you have a flat belly. Plants make you bloat!

I invite you, at whatever stage you are at, to join me for the next 30 days, and we’ll meet as a group on a weekly zoom call to answer your questions and have discussions on how you can slim and tone with 99% food, and 1% exercise. I would like it to be a support group, where we can all come together and talk about our challenges and get our questions answered. It will be $40/mo for a month worth of zoom calls. I’m taking a survey for which days/times work well for the majority of people. We can also make these zoom meetings available for playback if you happen to miss one.

You don’t have to be carnivore to do this. Like I said, you can join at whatever stage you are at with your food plan. You could be high carb now and wanting to slowly reduce them. You could be diabetic wanting to get down to keto. Maybe you’re wanting to go ketovore or carnivore. Currently, I am 98% carnivore with coffee a couple times a week. We’re all at different places in our health journey and our relationship with food. I’ve lost about 55 pounds of fat, but I want to lose another 55, and I’m going to start fasting so that I can tone. Wherever you are at is right now is exactly where you’re supposed to be. This is a group for discussing and learning and supporting each other on our own personal health journeys. A judgement-free zone.

You can vote and send me additional times that would be better for you, but I was kind of thinking of starting with the following. These are not set in stone. I’ll wait to hear from you all first. If I get enough response for a different day/time, I’ll consider changing one of these:
